General Scope:
Paradox Brewery is seeking a motivated, hands-on Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the General Manager in the daily operations of our Tasting Room and Restaurant. This is a working leadership position that combines shift management with direct guest service responsibilities.
The Assistant Restaurant Manager plays a key role in ensuring exceptional guest experiences, supporting staff development, maintaining operational standards, and helping execute events and promotions. This position regularly works on the floor alongside bartenders and servers while helping oversee day-to-day operations.
Schedule Requirements:
Expected Hours:
- May-October: 45-50 hours per week
- November-April: 35-40 hours per week
Schedule:
- Typical schedule includes Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:00AM - 9:00PM and Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00AM - 10:00PM.
- Additional weekday shifts may be required during peak season.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
Roles and Responsibility:
- Assist with the daily operations of the Tasting Room and Restaurant.
- Lead shifts and provide support, direction, and coaching to front-of-house staff.
- Oversee daily sections, side work assignments, and completion of opening and closing checklists.
- Open and/or close the restaurant independently as needed.
- Train and onboard new team members on service standards and operating procedures.
- Assist in overseeing bartenders, servers, and support staff during service.
- Help maintain menu accuracy and communicate menu updates to staff.
- Assist with cocktail menu implementation and seasonal offerings.
- Execute brewery events, special promotions, and guest experiences.
- Assist with POS system troubleshooting and operational issues.
- Help drive sales through guest engagement, staff coaching, and product knowledge.
- Assist with annual inventory counts and inventory organization.
- Maintain an exceptional level of cleanliness throughout the restaurant, bar, and guest areas.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide exceptional hospitality and create memorable guest experiences.
- Serve guests in a professional, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Bartend and serve tables as business levels require.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of food menus, beer offerings, cocktails, and seasonal releases.
- Make recommendations and educate guests on Paradox Brewery products.
- Address guest concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Assist with bussing, resetting tables, running food, and supporting overall service flow.
- Act as a brand ambassador for Paradox Brewery at all times.
- Special projects as assigned by management
Skills:
- Previous restaurant leadership, shift lead, assistant manager, bartending, or serving experience required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Comfortable coaching team members and maintaining accountability.
- Experience with POS systems preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards preferred.
- Interest in craft beer and hospitality strongly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during manager-on-duty shifts.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant and brewery environment.
